Areas of Interest
These are somewhat in priority order -- but we are pretty flexible. We are trying to be of assistance, not a burden!
We are very interested in helping where there is real need. We realize that we cannot change the world overnight, but we'd like to help where change can make a difference in a few lives.
Both of us have a particular bent for helping children -- directly or indirectly. We raised 5 of them, and we love them. There is nothing more uplifting in life than watching a child discover the world and themselves. They seem to be all potential.
It is cold in Minnesota from November through March, and we would love to spend a few weeks during that time in a warmer spot.
Carl has some language skills (Italian, French, German and Spanish -- in that descending order), and we would both like to learn about places and cultures where we can grow. Some aspect of foreign involvement would be of great interest to us.
We realize that fund raising and development is an important part of most worthwhile activities -- and we both have some experience in this area. But we would not like to dedicate the majority of our time to only fund raising. We need a bit more involvement at this point in our lives.
